Sorry brother, but if your getting 5 miles per gallon your truck is outdated and you’re losing 40% NET PROFIT! A used Freightliner 2014 will get you 8-10 mpg and will run you 20-25k , you’d make that money back in 3 months
You guys need to learn real numbers, this isn’t even close to what you really made at the end of the day it’s a lot less after all true expenses in this industry. The first priority and most important is keeping cost down and knowing all your cost then and only then do you know your true numbers about how and what you need to be profitable. I run at a $1.66 on average on ALL miles, my truck my trailer which I pay to have the work done, work 4.5 days a week, 9.5 months a year on average know all my expenses down to the tenth of a cent and make a comfortable living not a millionaire but better then most. I watch all you drivers brag about gross this gross that which never shows the true numbers at the end of the day. Then watch people follow your advice thinking they are going to get rich and usually fail in the first year owing more then they make. I’ve been in this industry for 30 years and nothing has changed, lies from companies, brokers, government, drivers and owner operators. Then everyone cry’s when they can’t make money cause of cheap rates or what ever else you cry about, instead of looking at the real problem in this industry and it’s the drivers acting like a bunch idiots out here on the road, have no respect for each other and think that a big shinny truck that can run 100 makes you better then any other driver out here. We as drivers need to clean up this industry and then and only then you might actually get paid what you should. But getting on YouTube announcing lies about how much money you don’t really make at the end of the day makes people think you are over paid instead of under paid. Show real numbers on how tuff it is to make a really good living and then someone might pay attention. Start showing that you respect each other out here on the road not to mention respecting the idiots that drive 4 wheelers along with stop throwing your trash out in the middle of a parking lot or pissing in the parking lots or running you straight pipe jakes that make you feel cool in a residential area and maybe you will start earning the respect you want. Otherwise this industry will continue to function as it has for the 30 years I’ve been in it and they will continue to figure out how to take more freedom away from you not to mention money making it harder and harder to survive, It’s a choice so choose yours.

Obozo allowed Mexican trucks to run deeper into the US further taking away American trucker jobs, and no lap dogs they are not held to the same standards for insurance, safety and training.

Your leaving out maintenance, food, showers, phone bill, etc.

What about food, maintenance ect?
How of gross is paid to a hired driver?
Other things to consider. Insurance heavy vehicle tax registration unified carrier oil changes tires and maintenance.
Detroit is sucksss
What about insurance cost
How long does it take to get paid for a load?
Is this for non-CDL?

Good explanation.
This great for OTR truckers. But unfortunately, this does not apply for Los Angeles port o/o. 😠
i have a completely unrelated question. How's your lower back after doing 2500 miles? Just wondering.
Obozo allowed Mexican trucks to run deeper into the US further taking away American trucker jobs, and no lap dogs they are not held to the same standards for insurance, safety and training.
wtf? There's a couple 2 or 3 more expenses than just fuel lmao

The difference between company driver and owner op is the carrot is bigger but its shaped like a dick!
