More and more companies are pushing us to auto pay. Whether it is the latest subscription service or your monthly utilities, Americans are putting more and more …
I would have to disagree with your opinion that using a debit card is preferable to a credit card, solely on the basis of how often credit card theft happens these days. if they get your debit card info they get to outright steal your money and you're just screwed unless you have a good bank. You can be out the stolen money for months while they "investigate". Whereas a credit card you are not responsible for the stolen money unless they prove nothing nefarious happened. This is based on my personal experiences with my particular financial institutions so your mileage may vary.
Tom I think the issue with people who have debt is they either do not manage their money right or they do not save 20% of their salary or they just do not have a budget or they spend more then what they make, or they just do not care or they have everything on auto pay or they do not check their bill payment statements or they just do not save for things they need or what or they just want to keep up with the Jones which is stupid or they just want to have the latest and greatest on their electronics or appliances etc which is another stupid thing to do LOL I am no expert but since I was a child I was told about money and how to manage money and how to pay bills on time and not care or compare myself to others who happen to have more then I do I do not know if it has something to do with it but either way I am just grateful I manage my money with organization and save money and think about the future and have a plan and budget 🙂
