1.) Go to www.irs.gov
Beneath the Tools menu, you’ll see the option “Apply for an Employer ID Number.” Click it.

2. Apply Online
You’ll land on a screen to determine whether you’re eligible to apply for an EIN online. If you have a SSN, ITIN, or another EIN, you’ll qualify to apply online for your Wyoming business’ EIN. Click “Apply Online Now.”

3.) Begin Application
You’ll land on a new page describing more restrictions. Basically, you can’t save your application and must complete it in one session; if you’re a foreign filer, you must have an ITIN. Click “Begin Application.”

4.) Choose the Entity Type for which You’re Applying

5.) Confirm Entity Type
The next screen will basically ask you to confirm the entity type you selected. Click “Continue.”

6.) Fill Out Company Information
You’ll be asked about the number of officers or members depending upon which entity you’re applying for, and where the business is physically located. You’ll choose WY.

7.) Confirm Your Selection, Again
As long as you entered your information correctly, simply click “Continue.”

8.) State Reason for Applying for EIN
You’ll have to choose from a variety of options as to why you’re applying for the EIN. Choose the best answer for your situation. Most people just say starting a new business or banking purposes

9.)List the Individual’s Information
Name, SSN, and whether the individual is a third party or an shareholder/member. All of this information will remain private between you and the IRS. You can use our address if you’d like.

10.) Entity Details
List basic information about the business entity, such as name; county and state where entity is located; and start date. All this information will remain private with the IRS. It will populate your data also. You can use our address for getting a Wyoming based EIN number.

11.) List More Entity Details
This page is simply asking about the nature of the entity’s business. Click “Continue” when you’re finished. You can select other or services to be generic.

12.)List Type of Business
The page will provide you with a number of different options for the type of business the entity will be conducting. Select the best answer for your company and click “Continue.”

13.) Specify the Nature of Business
This page asks you to choose a more specific nature of business the entity will be conducting. For example, if you select “Finance,” you’ll see the following page:

14.) EIN Confirmation Letter
This is asking how you’d like to receive notification of your Wyoming entity’s EIN. Choose the online option, unless for some reason you want to wait four weeks.
